This Privacy Policy explains how HireStack ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our AI-powered career and job application intelligence platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you create an account (via Google Sign-In or email).
  • Resume and CV content: Personal details, work experience, education, skills, and other information you provide through our resume builder and profile tools.
  • Job descriptions: Text you paste or enter for job-description analysis and matching.
  • Usage data: Credit consumption, feature usage, session activity, plan information, and interaction patterns within the application.
  • Payment references: Transaction IDs, plan selections, and purchase history. We do not store complete payment card details — payment processing is handled by third-party payment services (see Section 4).
  • Technical data: IP address (hashed for rate limiting), browser type, device information, and error logs for security and service improvement.
  • Support communications: Emails and messages submitted through our support form.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery: Processing your resume through our AI models, generating optimized CVs, performing job-description analysis, and providing ATS scoring.
  • Account management: Managing your account, processing one-time purchases, tracking credit usage, and managing 30-day access periods.
  • Service improvement: Analyzing aggregate usage trends to optimize performance, fix bugs, and improve features.
  • Security: Preventing abuse, enforcing rate limits, detecting fraudulent activity, and protecting the platform.
  • Support: Responding to your inquiries and resolving technical issues.
  • Communications: Sending transactional emails related to your account and purchases (we do not send promotional marketing emails).

4. Third-Party Service Providers

To operate and improve HireStack, we share necessary data with the following third-party services:

  • Firebase / Google Cloud: Authentication (Google Sign-In), database storage (Firestore), and hosting infrastructure. Your account data and resume content are stored in Firebase.
  • DeepSeek: AI language model provider used for resume analysis, content optimization, and AI-assisted rewriting. Resume content and job descriptions are sent to DeepSeek's API for processing. DeepSeek processes this data according to its own privacy policy.
  • Payment Processors: Third-party payment processing services handle checkout, payment collection, tax calculation, invoicing, and refund processing. Payment processors receive your email address and payment details during checkout.
  • Vercel: Application hosting and deployment platform. Vercel processes web traffic and provides analytics.
  • Vercel Analytics: Anonymous, aggregate web analytics to understand page performance and user flows. No personally identifiable information is collected by Vercel Analytics.
  • Upstash (Redis): Used for rate limiting, usage tracking, and caching. Stores hashed identifiers and usage counters — no resume content is stored in Redis.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: Used to protect the platform from bots and automated abuse. Google reCAPTCHA may collect device and interaction data as described in Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

HireStack uses cookies and browser local storage for:

  • Authentication: Session tokens to keep you signed in.
  • Preferences: Language selection, theme preferences, and cookie consent status.
  • Security: reCAPTCHA tokens for bot protection.
  • Analytics: Anonymous usage data through Vercel Analytics.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and resume content for as long as your account is active. Payment records and transaction logs are retained as required for accounting and legal compliance. Usage and rate-limiting data is retained temporarily and automatically expires. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our active systems. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, server-side authentication verification, and rate limiting. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can initiate account deletion through the Delete Account page.
  • Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object: Object to certain types of data processing.

9. Children's Privacy
